Please could you supply the rationale and case studies which lead you to design the cartography for the Explorer series?
Thank you for your email, I am pleased to provide you with the attached information with regard to your request. Given that this work was undertaken in 2002 and 2003, however, very little information remains in our records from that period. Of the information which does remain, I am pleased to forward to you the list of persons and bodies aware of the proposed changes; the list of consulted bodies and organisations; and the Qualitative Research document for the consultation prior to the changes being published.
Please be aware that not all the relevant information Ordnance Survey holds has been provided within this response, as parts of it fall within the Personal information exemption under section 40 (2) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). We believe this exemption applies because it includes information about respondents and staff who have moved on from the activities they were then involved in therefore we will not be releasing this information to you.
To the extent that the Public interest test applies (section 17 FOIA), we have determined that in all the circumstances of the case, the public interest does not apply in this instance as the exemption applied is an Absolute exemption under FOIA.
Please note that your enquiry has been processed to Freedom of Information guidelines.
If you are unhappy with our response, you may raise an appeal to our Appeals Officer at:

Please include the reference number below. The Appeals Officer will ensure that the process has been followed correctly, questioning any decisions taken regarding the original response and recommending disclosure of additional information if appropriate.
Thank you for your enquiry.
