Your licence will allow you to:

  • make unlimited hard copies from the data for internal business use;
  • use data on an internal network;
  • transmit extracts of data by email within your business; and
  • publish extracts of data externally for display and promotion so long as there is no direct financial gain for its use.

We believe simpler licensing could open up many benefits for your customer relations and business-to-business communications. Now, whatever your business, you can do much more.

Here are just three examples:

  • You can make available maps of your office locations or other properties and put them on your web site.
  • If you are organising a seminar, annual general meeting or open day, you can include a map showing the venue in a leaflet or flyer.
  • You can include mapping in property sales particulars, on-site plans and in internal or external reports to give a wider context to your own information.

Your annual licence fee is based solely on the number of digital map units or tiles you hold. Fees are calculated on the following charges starting from a minimum of £47.50 plus VAT.

Data use:£11.85 per tile  plus hard copies; £45 for each batch of 50 tiles supplied

For example:

  • If you purchase 30 tiles, you will pay £400.50 (30 x £11.85 + £45)
  • If you purchase 140 tiles, the fee is £1794 (140 x £11.85 + 3 x £45)

All licence fees are subject to VAT.

If you copy paper maps as well you will need one of our new Paper map copying licences. For more information, please see our leaflet Copyright 4 – 2003 for full details.

Our maps form the basis of the title plans produced by HM Land Registry, which makes official copies. You will need a copyright licence from us if, as part of your client service for that transaction, you wish to make additional copies. Making copies for any other purpose is not permitted. The charges shown in our leaflet Copyright 4 – 2003 apply.

Illegal use of our mapping

Copying our maps or using our data without our permission is illegal and, if you do so, you will have to pay compensation. We work out compensation in line with standard royalty charges plus our costs. You will not pay VAT on compensation. If you need any more information, please phone the Protection and Enforcement Team on 023 8079 2732 or 023 8079 2040.
