Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency

Ordnance Survey Mapping and Data Centre Non-exclusive Distribution Agreement

Ordnance Survey has an obligation to make its large scales mapping and map data widely available and accessible to all citizens as branded published products.  To ensure this it operates a network of accredited outlets under the brand name Ordnance Survey Mapping and Data Centre.

If you wish to become an Ordnance Survey Mapping and Data Centre you will need to be accredited and to sign a Mapping and Data Centre Non-exclusive Distribution Agreement with us.

This agreement defines the overarching terms and conditions of the commercial relationship between you and Ordnance Survey, including the premises that you will need to operate from, the specialist infrastructure and staff expertise you will need, and the branded products and services you will be required to support.  It also describes the scope you have to operate a network of outlet points, either under your own company banner, in conjunction with other companies acting as 'satellite' outlets, or through providing services directly into the premises of your main customers.

Data supplied under the Non-exclusive Distribution Agreement is licensed to end users under either

A one-year standard licence,

The Plan, Design and Build licence is aimed at project managers and end-users who are undertaking projects in the land and property market. Their licence includes terms and conditions for sharing the data with other project participants.

The Non-exclusive Distribution Agreement is a fixed term agreement that also defines the royalty model to be applied to the products and services supplied to end users.  Minimum annual royalty returns apply.
