Terra future

Terra future was the name we gave a series of thought leadership events between 2005 and 2010.

The keynote speaker at the 2005 event was Peter Cochrane OBE, previously Chief Technology Officer for BT – and in 2006, Sir Tim Berners-Lee attracted a capacity audience to our lecture theatre. He gave a thought-provoking talk on the future of the World Wide Web and the growing importance of geographic information in its development.

Events in 2009 and 2010 focused on the 'grand challenges' of sustainable living and working, climate change and sustainable transportation.

Our GeoVation initiative has built on the principle they established, of encouraging people to come together to discuss the issues and develop practical solutions.
