Travel directions to our Southampton head office
On this page you will find information about access for the disabled, location maps, travel directions and information for in-car satnav users.
At Ordnance Survey we encourage staff and visitors to use public transport whenever possible. As a result, we only have a limited number of visitor parking spaces, which need to be booked in advance through your contact at head office.

Disabled access
We welcome all visitors to Ordnance Survey
Wheelchair/disabled impaired users
Ordnance Survey has been designed to be accessible and user friendly for all our visitors, no matter what their special needs might be.
Building access
- Designated car parking spaces for disabled drivers or passengers are available close to the main entrance.
- All pathways within the grounds and leading to the main entrance are all on one level
- Good lighting is provided within the grounds and car parking areas.
- Adjacent to the revolving door at the main entrance, there is a designated disabled entrance door that opens outwards in response to pressing a touch button.
- The entrance leading to reception is step-free and on one level.
- On arrival, reception staff will brief you on our emergency evacuation policy, and determine if you require any additional assistance in the event of an emergency evacuation.
Internal access and facilities
- Low counter at reception.
- Spacious wide malls with no changes in floor levels.
- Lifts to all floors have audible enunciation and tactile buttons at standard height.
- Excellent unisex toilet facilities with alarm response on all floors.
- Large doorways to meeting rooms.
- good lighting is provided throughout the building.
- For the hard of hearing, we provide induction loops at reception and in meeting rooms.
- Guide dogs are welcome.

By road
Hampshire traffic news from the BBC
From London, Birmingham and the North
Follow M3 to junction 13, take the left-hand lane signposted M27 west and then join M27 westbound for approximately four miles.
Exit M27 at junction 3 onto M271 southbound. Leave at junction 1 and take the first exit. At the first roundabout take the second exit, and continue to the next roundabout.
At the second roundabout, take the third exit, signposted for the visitors' car park.
From Bournemouth, Ringwood and the West
Follow M27 eastbound to junction 3. Exit M27 at junction 3 onto M271 southbound. Leave at junction 1 and take the first exit.
At the first roundabout take the second exit, and continue to the next roundabout. At the second roundabout, take the third exit, signposted for the visitors' car park.
From Bristol, Bath and Salisbury
Take A36 from Salisbury. After about 15 miles join M27 eastbound at junction 2.
Exit M27 at junction 3 onto M271southbound. Leave at junction 1 and take the first exit. At the first roundabout take the second exit, and continue to the next roundabout. At the second roundabout, take the third exit, signposted for the visitors' car park.
From Portsmouth and Brighton
Follow M27 westbound to junction 3. Exit M27 at junction 3 onto M271 southbound. Leave at junction 1 and take the first exit.
At the first roundabout take the second exit, and continue to the next roundabout. At the second roundabout, take the third exit, signposted for the visitors' car park.
By coach
Scheduled coach services connect Southampton with London and major towns. Taxis are normally available and the journey time from the coach station to Ordnance Survey is approximately 15 minutes.
By rail
There are regular services to Southampton Central from London Waterloo, the Midlands, South Wales and the south coast. Please contact National Rail Enquiries for details.
Taxis are available outside both station exits. The journey time to Ordnance Survey is approximately 15 minutes.
Buses to Ordnance Survey stop near the platform 1 exit. The 1 is a direct bus link from the station to Adanac Park and takes approximately 25 minutes, alighting at the bus stop on Adanac Drive.
By air
Southampton Airport
There are regular air services to Southampton, both domestic and European. Taxis are available outside the terminal and the journey time to Ordnance Survey is approximately 25 minutes.
London Heathrow Airport
There are regular Railair services to Southampton using South West Trains® via Woking Station, with connecting coaches to and from the airport. Please contact National Rail Enquiries for details. Coaches run from the airport's Central Coach Station to Southampton.
London Gatwick Airport
There are regular rail services from Gatwick to Southampton. Please contact National Rail Enquiries for details. Coaches run from the airport to Victoria Coach Station, London, connecting with coaches to Southampton.
On arrival
At the second roundabout, take the third exit signposted for the visitors' car park. Please obtain a visitor's pass from Reception. Our receptionist will be pleased to arrange a taxi for your departure, if required.

Satnav users
Since our building is new, our address and postcode does not yet appear in many satnav systems. We therefore suggest that you enter the address or postcode of the local Holiday Inn, which is the nearest building to us, as your destination.

At the big roundabout immediately after the M271, take the second larger exit for Adanac Drive, not the first small exit for the Holiday Inn as directed by your satnav. Our building will appear straight ahead after a couple of hundred yards.
