Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency
Ordnance Survey has consistently denied it produced the versions of Ordnance Survey SJxxxx dated 1969 and 1978. Will you please inform me why because as Ordnance Survey, the Land Registry and the xxxxxx county court know these maps were the ones used to purchase the forged transfer map below used by xxxxxx solicitors xxxxxx to purchase 3.5 acre’s of land from xxxxx Council on December 24th 1993. The 3.5 acres of land undoubtedly coming from the 1969 map, and the outer area undoubtedly coming from the 1978 version.
Thank you for your letter dated 25th January 2010. I regret to inform you that Ordnance Survey is unable to help you with your enquiry as we do not hold this information. Ordnance Survey no longer has a Historical Map Archive, meaning that we are unable to check the dates in question, as the only record of what was published are the maps themselves.
It is possible that The National Archives (TNA) may hold the information you have requested from us, as some of our historical mapping was transferred to them upon closure of our archive. We suggest you contact TNA as follows:
