Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency
I am contacting websites where I find photographic images of my property published on the WWW. I have contacted Google and Multimap but believe Multimap obtain their images from Ordnance Survey. I have asked Multimap to let me know where they obtain their images from.
Would you please let me know what details you require to remove my property from any images you sell or make available to others or publish yourselves?
Would you please let me know what entities' you have supplied photographic images of my property. My postcode is xxxxxx.'
Thank you for your e-mail dated 14th March 2010. We are pleased to provide you with the following information with regard to your request:
Ordnance Survey does not licence imagery to partners such as Google® or Microsoft®, therefore Ordnance Survey imagery will not be available through Google Maps or Multimap®.
We do license imagery for 'internal business use' to a range of Government, utility and commercial customers. 'Internal business use' licensing will allow some publication of that imagery under 'Display and Promotion' terms.
We are not able to remove individual features from our imagery or map products - both being an accurate record of the real world at any point in time.
Please note that your enquiry has been processed to Freedom of Information guidelines. As all requested information has been provided, we have determined that in all the circumstances of this case the Public interest consideration (section 17 FOIA) is not applicable in this instance.
