Companies passing the PQQ

With regard to the recent PQQ document for Tender reference Dxxxxxx, The Supply and Installation of Audio Visual Equipment; we have been informed that we have not been successful in passing the PQQ stage.

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, could you let me know which companies have passed the PQQ stage and will be asked to submit a tender response.

Thank you for your e-mail dated 28^th June 2010. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information, however I regret to inform you that your request falls within the Commercial Interests exemption under section 43 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

We believe this exemption applies because the tender process to which your request relates is not yet complete, and the release of the names of the organisations who have successfully passed the Pre Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ), would be likely to harm/prejudice the commercial interests of these organisations in what is a competitive market, and where the public interest is in ensuring companies are able to compete fairly.

Disclosing the names of these organisations would also be likely to harm the commercial relationship between these organisations and Ordnance Survey - now and in the future, therefore we will not be releasing this information to you.

To the extent that the Public interest test applies (section 17 FOIA), we have determined that in all circumstances of the case, the public interest in withholding the requested information outweighs that of disclosure at this time.
