Corporate branding

These questions pertain to your logo: When was your current logo, corporate style, graphics and branding implemented; Who designed it; How much were the designers paid for their services?; Were other designers consulted; Was there competition and if so, who was involved, and was any payment made to unsuccessful firms?; Are there any "alternate" versions of the branding (as in, any which were designed but not taken up) and if so, please supply an electronic copy; Please provide me with a copy of your logo guidelines, branding manual or equivalent document.

Thank you for your e-mail dated 26th October 2010.We are pleased to provide you with the following information with regard to your request, and respond to each of your questions in turn.

1.  When was your current logo, corporate style, graphics and branding implemented?

A corporate identity review was carried out in 1995, and our current branding dates from then.

2.  Who designed it?

Lloyd Northover Citigate designed the current branding.

3.  How much were the designers paid for their services?

Lloyd Northover Citigate were paid £26,750 as the successful bidder in the tender for ‘Review of Corporate Identity’ in which the current logo, corporate style, graphics and branding were included.

4.  Were other designers consulted? Was there competition? If so, who was involved, and was any payment made to unsuccessful firms?

An Invitation to Tender for the ‘Review of Corporate Identity’ was issued in January 1995. Five companies responded (Consolidated Communications, Lloyd Northover Citigate, New Solutions, Proctor & Stevenson and Publicis Dialogue). No payments were made to unsuccessful firms.

5.  Are there any "alternate" versions of the branding (as in, any which were designed but not taken up), and if so, please supply an electronic copy.

I regret to inform you that Ordnance Survey does not hold any information on alternate branding.

6.  Please provide me with a copy of your logo guidelines, branding manual or equivalent document.

We are please to attach to this e-mail, a document titled ‘Corporate identity guidelines – corporate mark and colours’. This document includes our logo guidelines.
