Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency
I wonder if you wouldn’t mind taking a look at the below article:
http://www.rman.co.uk/article_estate-agents-melt-away-from-the-high-street-4239.html
I am unable to find the information that is cited in the article but wonder whether there are any figures available for Solicitors/Licensed Conveyancers? If so I should be grateful if you would provide a copy to me in due course.
Thank you for your e-mail dated 24th January 2011. The information detailed on the website link to which you refer, was generated from a news release issued by Ordnance Survey on the 20th January 2011.
The data contained in the news release was created using our OS MasterMap® Address Layer 2 product. This product details classifications that are based on Ordnance Survey Base Functions, where we can identify property types (such as Warehouse) and categorise them. From this we were able to count and create a comparison of ‘base functions’ recorded in the product between 2008 and 2010, and compile trends based on these. The trends are the information cited in the article to which you refer.
I regret to inform you that Ordnance Survey does not hold the information you have requested, as comparisons for Solicitors and Conveyancers were not included.
The link below will take you to the full news release in the media centre of our website:
