I should be grateful if you would let me have the following information:

(1) the total number of staff employed (headcount and FTE) by Ordnance Survey within Wales as at 31 December 2010;

(2) the proportion of the above who fall within Senior Civil Service grades;

(3) a breakdown of the overall Ordnance Survey Wales staffing figure by workplace;

(4) projected staffing figures for Ordnance Survey in Wales for the 2011/12 financial year and (if available) for 2014/15; and

(5) the number of external contractors (if any) being employed by Ordnance Survey within Wales on 31 December 2010.

Thank you for your e-mail dated 24th January 2011. We are pleased to provide you with the following information with regard to your request, and respond to each of your questions in turn.

1. There are 19 staff employed by Ordnance Survey within Wales as of the 31st December 2010 by headcount, and 18.54 FTE. 

2. None of the above fall within Senior Civil Service grades.

3. Some of our staff are partial home workers, therefore they are not posted to a single workplace, but posted to an area of geography.  The following breakdown details the area of geography and our offices:

5.  No staff were employed in by Ordnance Survey within Wales as external contractors on 31st December 2010.
