Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency
I want to put in a Freedom of Information request and require the following information:
1. ICT Structure- this is the departmental structure of your IT (Information Technology) department. Please can you send me the current ICT Structure that shows the current IT senior management?
2. For each of the senior management within the IT Department please can you provide me with their full contact names, actual job titles, direct contact telephone number and there direct email addresses.
3. Who is the Director of Finance and the Commercial Director (Procurement), please can you send me their contact details as well.
4. If some or all the organisation's ICT is outsourced please state the suppliers names.
Thank you for your e-mail dated 1st June 2011. We respond to each of your questions in turn. Please note that not all of the information Ordnance Survey holds has been provided with this response, as parts of it fall under an exemption of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000, and this detailed where applicable.
1. Please see the attached pdf structure diagram, which details our IS department and some of the current IS senior management.
Please note, not all the names of the senior management have been included on the structure chart, as this information falls under the Personal Information exemption under section 40 (2) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) which is an absolute exemption.
This is because there is an expectation that staff working for Ordnance Survey will not have their personal information released, unless this information is already in the public domain via the Annual Report or Civil Service Year Book, therefore we will not be releasing all of this information to you.
2. The full contact names and job titles of some of the senior management team are detailed on the attached spreadsheet. Again, not all of the names of our IS senior management, direct contact numbers and direct e-mail addresses have been included as this falls under the Personal Information exemption under section 40 (2) (a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) which is an absolute exemption.
Once again we consider this exemption applies because there is an expectation that staff working for Ordnance Survey will not have their personal information and direct contact information released, unless this information is already in the public domain via the Annual Report or Civil Service Year Book, therefore we will not be releasing all of this information to you.
3. The Director of Finance is Paul Hemsley and our Head of Procurement is Julia Painter. Their contact e-mail addresses are:
Paul.hemsley@ordnancesurvey.co.uk
Julia.painter@ordnancesurvey.co.uk
4. N/A.
Please note your enquiry has been processed according to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000. As all the requested information has been provided provided, or withheld under an absolute exemption of the FOIA, we have determined that in all the circumstances of this case the Public interest consideration (section 17 FOIA) is not applicable.
If you are unhappy with our response, you may raise an appeal to our Appeals Officer at:
