Thank you for your e-mail of 29th February 2012, with your new question to Ordnance Survey under the Freedom of Information Act:

'PPA members would like to know if it is Ordnance Survey's intention to comply with the OPSI's best practice guidelines, with requires Government organisations to define it's Public Task and to create transparency between its Public Task and its added value commercial activities.'

We expect the Government response to the consultation on Data Policy to be published shortly, and understand that the Government will undertake a review of agencies' public tasks.  The outcome of this process is dependent on engagement across Government, and the review will take into account guidance from the Directorate of Information Policy and Services at the National Archives.

Your enquiry has been processed according to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000. As all the requested information has been provided, we have determined that in all the circumstances of this case the Public interest consideration (section 17 FOIA) is not applicable in this instance.
