Thank you for your e-mail of 11th August 2012, requesting:
A copy of all material held by your department or organisation which relates to the potential consequences of Scotland becoming an independent country. This should include any risk assessments, risk registers, scenario planning exercises, legal advice or internal briefings.
I regret to inform you that Ordnance Survey is unable to help you with your enquiry as we do not hold this information.
Whilst you will no doubt be aware of the announcement by the Secretary of State, on the 20 June 2012, regarding the UK Government undertaking a comprehensive programme of work to inform and support debate on Scotland's future within the UK, Ordnance Survey has not undertaken any work or prepared information relating to the possible consequences of Scotland becoming an independent country, therefore the information you request is not held.

Failed to respond to your request within the time limits (normally 20 working days)

The FOI Appeals Officer will not have been involved in the original decision. They will conduct an internal review and will inform you of the outcome of the review normally within 20 working days, but exceptionally within 40 working days, in line with the Information Commissioner's guidance.
The FOI Appeals Officer will either: uphold the original decision, provide additional explanation of the exemption/s applied or release further information, if it is considered appropriate to do so.
