Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency

Copyright licences available from Ordnance Survey

In addition to all of the Framework and other licences that we offer, many customers continue to use paper mapping for re-use purposes, or otherwise have a re-use requirement not covered by the Framework licences.

If you wish to re-use mapping in this way, we operate a flexible and open licensing system to make sure you can get full use of our mapping products.

If you'd like to use mapping, either in business or a personal capacitywhat you are going to do with it determines the type of licence you'll need.

If you run a printing or copyshop business, to publish or copy mapping in compliance with our copyright and licensing guidelines, this is what you need to know.

If you represent a school, college or university, please see our Copyright for Education page.

Please refer to the relevant sector page if you represent a central goverment department, a local authority or a utility.

If you're one of our partners, please log in to find out more about your copyright arrangements.

We recognise that certain public administration and 'fair dealing' uses are permitted by law and do not need our licence. Specific guidance to librarians is available on the terms under which in-copyright Ordnance Survey maps may be copied for members of the public.
