The Ordnance Survey Innovation Awards

We are delighted to be launching our first ever Innovation Awards at this year’s Local Government User conference, to celebrate and reward our customers for the exciting and innovative ways in which our data is being used across many different services in local government.

There will be two categories as follows:

1. GIS User of the Year

Open to Ordnance Survey Liaison Officers who can demonstrate an outstanding example of the use of Ordnance Survey data throughout their organisation. This category must demonstrate how Ordnance Survey data has benefited your company in no less than two departments.

Please provide us with a short paragraph of no more than 150 words, setting the scene and summarising how the data was used, then list supporting information in bullet points as follows:

  • what the need for the data was
  • how Ordnance Survey data helped you reach a specific bespoke solution
which Ordnance Survey product you used
  • timelines for the project
  • what difference Ordnance Survey data has made to the service you provide
  • any cost savings to your organisation
  • details of how the data has helped make your company more efficient; for example, reduction in overtime, reduction in fuel consumption, less congestion on the roads, better planning
  • where possible, please give illustrative examples, for example, mapping extract and photographs
  • please provide a company logo.
