Location data for the Thames Gateway

Thames Gateway Forum

Work towards a successful regeneration of the Thames Gateway is underpinned by Ordnance Survey geographical information. Our activities are focused on providing the definitive context for the places we all live and work in. Businesses, organisations and individuals depend on our authoritative and reliable location data every day.

Ordnance Survey and our partners can help to provide powerful, tailored solutions using location data to achieve the vision of a thriving Thames Gateway.

Regeneration within the area is ongoing. Further areas of development will emerge over time as the economy of the region continues to evolve. But the principles are very clear. The aim is not to destroy green sites to create new settlements. The project focuses on existing land use - consolidating a current settlement pattern.

We work closely with organisations spanning a broad variety of sectors - including local and central government, insurance, land and property, and retail. We supply a range of geographic information supporting activities in planning, demographic analysis, neighbourhood renewal, land use analysis and transport accessibility.

Ordnance Survey data provides a sound foundation for planning and development decisions behind successful regeneration projects. Our extensive portfolio can be electronically integrated with many different sets of information relating to a specific site.

We enable the search, analysis and visualisation of a development, from the planning stage through to completion and beyond - bringing together computer-aided design (CAD) and geographical information systems (GIS) as complementary and highly-effective business tools.

Around 500 partner organisations and publishers add value to our information, to develop products and services and deliver creative solutions - from complex digital information to traditional maps.
