Technical Specialist - Quality Assurance (3 roles)

Location: Southampton

Salary: £22,013 - £26,245, plus excellent benefits

At Ordnance Survey, we are currently looking for great people who are keen to start an exciting career at Great Britain’s national mapping agency, where you will have opportunities for personal development and progression by making a world-class contribution to the continuous improvement of Ordnance Survey data.

You will be required to undertake quality assurance testing of geospatial information and ancillary data, collected from field surveying and aerial photography, against specification for Ordnance Survey core datasets.  You will provide feedback reports to both internal and external data suppliers, and have the opportunity to discuss quality with suppliers through meetings and visits. The candidate will be required to liaise with staff in other areas of the business to ensure data issues are resolved and to identify and make process improvements with regard to effectiveness, efficiency and quality. The candidate will need to demonstrate self-motivation and attention to detail.

Essential Criteria 

  • Very good attention to detail in order to test data to measure conformance and ensure quality levels are met
  • Good knowledge and skills in MS Office
  • Good skills in recording and reporting information to enable decision making
  • Achieving Results - Delivers to required standard and is able to overcome a variety of setbacks and obstacles.
  • Working Together - Looks for new opportunities to seek and share expertise.

Desirable Criteria

  • Good knowledge in data capture techniques & edit applications
  • Solving Problems - Identifies and solves standard problems by observing main links between events and information
  • Full driving licence
