Fantasy Expedition

This resource, commissioned by the Ordnance Survey and produced by the Geographical Association.  This is an ideal resource for use with your Year 7 / Primary 7 pupils who recieved their free maps over the last 3 years.

Aimed at Key Stage 3, it encourages individuals to work in groups.  Covering the National Curriculum PoS; Geographical enquiry skills and Knowledge and Understanding.

The two expeditions have been created to enable you to address some of the requirements in the curriculum in a fun and interesting way.

The resource covers various key skills including:

Grid references
Contours
Symbols
Scale
Direction

Each activity should take approximately four lessons to complete for an average class size.

 

Elvis and me on tour - As we all know Elvis is alive and living in space! You will be given a day off school to take Elvis on an expedition and can choose to visit anywhere on your Ordnance Survey map.

Euro Expedition - The European Union is sending you and a friend to a country of your choice for a week on holiday.  Two students from that country will be visiting your home area in exchange.  Plan the best day out for them!
