Framework Contract (Direct Customers)

Users may licence digital map data directly from Ordnance Survey under the terms of the Framework Contract (Direct Customers) (FCDC).  This defines the overarching terms and conditions of the commercial relationship between the user and Ordnance Survey.  It also sets out the rights of access and use of the data granted by the licence.

The FCDC is an open ended annual licence available for periods of one, two or three years.  It is subject to annual licence royalty payments and may be renewed or extended as required.

Framework Contract (Direct Customers)

Data licensed under the FCDC is offered on Licensed Use terms:

Licensed Use  

These terms enable Users to use Ordnance Survey Data for their internal business use, meaning the internal administration and operation of their business.

We have three variants of “Licensed Use” which provide licence terms appropriate to the requirements of particular customer groups:

  1. Standard: are the rights that are available to all customers unless they are an;
  2. Infrastructure Body (Utility); or a
  3. Public Sector Body

Additional rights apply to Infrastructure Bodies and Public Sector Bodies.

Data Contracts

A separate Data Contract is implemented for each product licensed.  This contract describes the product specific terms and conditions, access and use rights, annual royalties, data formats, etc.

Contractor Use

You may permit Contractors, for the purpose of providing, or tendering to provide you with goods or services, to use:

a)  Licensed data for your Licensed Use; and /or

b)  Your login details for the purpose of accessing such Licensed Data via our On-Line Ordering Service.

The following interactive Standard Form Contractor Licence can be used by you to sign up your Contractors.  This contract fulfills the requirements of Clauses 5.6.1 and 5.6.2 of the FCDC.  By ensuring that the Contractor executes a Standard Form Contractor Licence before they have access to any Licensed Data, you will be deemed to have complied with Clause 5.6.1 of the FCDC.
