A bilingual guide to Ordnance Survey products and services has just been published by the national mapping agency.

The guide, in Welsh and English, has a complete index of the map maker’s Explorer, OS Landranger and OS Travel Map range, showing which kind of map at differing scales you need for what part of Britain.

Information on other products, such as wall maps, historical maps and CD-ROMs, is included in the guide.

"This is the first time Ordnance Survey has produced a bilingual guide to its maps," says Bryn Jones, Ordnance Survey’s Welsh Media Executive. "It is one of a range of products and services available specifically for customers in Wales. Welsh speakers can make use of our dedicated Welsh language helpline and a Welsh web site, www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/cymraeg, full of free mapping resources."

The Mapping Index 2004 guide is available for free from Ordnance Survey stockists or by telephoning the Welsh Helpline on 08456 05 05 04.
