Acacia completes research into national addressing

A series of reports have today been published following research into closer integration of national address data in Britain.

Pilot work under the Acacia Programme has successfully demonstrated technical feasibility despite the known complexity of addressing issues.

The programme - involving key holders of address data including Ordnance Survey - has reaffirmed the view that no single organisation has all the information for a truly joined-up national infrastructure.

Greater integration of data from different sources would, the reports say, offer potential efficiency gains in address management for both government and commercial users.
