Great Britain’s national mapping agency has appointed Rob Andrews as new Head of Corporate Communications.
From his work as Communications Manager at one of the largest housing associations in Eastern England and Public Relations Manager for Hertfordshire Constabulary, Rob brings a wealth of experience to the post.
Heading up the Corporate Communications team at Ordnance Survey, Rob hopes to raise the organisation’s public profile and develop the Ordnance Survey brand to reflect the scale at which the nation relies on the largest database of its kind anywhere in the world.
"This is an exciting time to be joining Ordnance Survey," he says. "The organisation is proud of its world famous range of paper maps – and rightly so. But there is so much more to it than that. Individuals’ lives and the health and wealth of the economy rely on Ordnance Survey’s highly detailed digital information".
Looking forward to further enhancing the reputation Ordnance Survey has held for more than two hundred years – collecting, maintaining and providing information on the ever-changing landscape, Rob says: "Ordnance Survey is clearly at the forefront of digital technology and I'm overwhelmed by the diversity of businesses, public services and organisations that use our data to deliver their own services. To be given the opportunity to further raise the agency’s profile is both challenging and exciting".
