Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency

Apply to join the Developer Partner Programme

Introduction

Existing Licensed Partners are automatically members of the Developer Programme and do not need to complete this application to take advantage of its benefits.

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Please be aware that as a Government Agency, Ordnance Survey may from time to time be subject to requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

Any general contact information you enter on the following application form may be made available to applicants under the FOIA and be published on the Internet and/or communities website.  Before doing this Ordnance Survey will consult with you and take your views into consideration.

Please clearly identify with us any information regarding your development ideas, market development plans, commercial agreements or personal discussions which you deem to be provided to us in commercial confidence and not to be made available to applicants under the act.  Please note that such information may only be given this status should its disclosure cause an actionable breach of confidence or can be shown to prejudice your commercial interests.

Giving your idea the support it deserves

To become a Developer Partner you simply need to demonstrate that your idea has marketplace potential. Once accepted on the developer programme, we ask you to agree to protect Ordnance Survey data from copying or commercial use.

Your Developer Partner licence lasts for one year only and during this time you'll benefit from online access to sample Ordnance Survey data. You may use our sample data to develop your idea, application or solution, but may not exploit it commercially during the licence period.

We also offer access to privileged website pages, contacts and frequently asked questions, email technical advice, progress checks after 6 and 12 months and assessment of your business plan at the end of the development phase.

The Developer programme is the ideal entry point for sampling our high-quality geographical data to test a new idea and is the first step towards full partner status.
