Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency
As of October 1 2008, both Land-Line and Land-Line plus products ceased to be available from Ordnance Survey. Land-Line customers and partners were provided with official Notice of Withdrawal on June 1 2007. This followed a formal public consultation in 2005.
Ordnance Survey has made available two different post withdrawal licences for holding and accessing your formerly licensed Land-Line, summaries of their content are provided below:
Residual Right Licence
Our Residual Rights licence entitles you to retain Land-Line holdings, Land-Line plus holdings and your information overlaid on Land-Line data following the withdrawal date so that you can continue to use these for your ongoing day to day business use (that is your Standard Licensed Use). The key terms of the Residual Rights Licence are:-
Archive Licence
This licence is required if you no longer need to use your Land-Line data holdings for day to day business use but wish to retain an electronic copy rather than deleting the data. This licence allows you to retain an electronic copy of your Ordnance Survey data holdings for the sole purpose of responding to a complaint or challenge from a third party that relates directly to your earlier use of the Archive data under an expired Land-Line Supply contract. Due to limited use allowed under this licence, it is free of charge.
