OS VectorMap District

OS VectorMap® District is a map on which you can overlay your own information. It can also be customised by selecting and styling different features in different ways.
Ideal for creating web applications, OS VectorMap District contains only the most important information to give you a clear, uncluttered backdrop map.
March 2013- now a fully maintained product.

Understand how OS VectorMap District can be used:
Technical details:
Format: ESRI® Shapefile interchange format, GML 3.2 Simple Features (Vector) and GeoTIFF with LZW compression (Raster – backdrop colour and full-colour).
Tile size: 10km x 10km (GeoTIFF), 20km x 20km (GML), 100km x 100km (Shape)
Data structure: Vector and raster.
Attributes: Vector: uses a ‘real world’ approach that aids styling via the identification of thematic layers, including settlement named places, roads, woodland and administrative boundaries. Raster: GeoTIFF raster data has a predefined output.
Scale: District.
Update frequency: Six-monthly in March and September.
Supply: Online download (100km files) and DVD (Great Britain).
Coverage: Great Britain.
