Technical details:

Format: ESRI^® Shapefile interchange format, GML 3.2 Simple Features (Vector) and GeoTIFF with LZW compression (Raster – backdrop colour and full-colour).

Tile size: 10km x 10km (GeoTIFF), 20km x 20km (GML), 100km x 100km (Shape)

Data structure: Vector and raster.

Attributes: Vector: uses a ‘real world’ approach that aids styling via the identification of thematic layers, including settlement named places, roads, woodland and administrative boundaries. Raster: GeoTIFF raster data has a predefined output.

Scale: District.

Update frequency: Six-monthly in March and September.

Supply: Online download (100km files) and DVD (Great Britain).

Coverage: Great Britain.
