Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency
The ITN Layer has two supplementary data files, these are:
Ordnance Survey visited in excess of 110,000 bridges across England, Scotland and Wales to add to the comprehensive HGV information already in the Integrated Transport Network Layer. The attributes which, when combined with the height restrictions that are currently in the ITN Layer, allow large vehicles, such as heavy goods vehicles and emergency services vehicles, to plan a route avoiding low and narrow bridges and those historic bridges with a weight restriction.
It consists of two attributes - weight restrictions and width restrictions. Together with height restrictions, severe turns, date/time vehicle qualifiers and ferry links which are already contained within the Road Routing Information (RRI) theme it makes a comprehensive dataset. It can be used by customers with an interest in routing for navigation, fleet-management, tracking, scheduling, consumer-web and location-based services.
Steep gradients complement the HGV attribution already available, these are:
Both these datasets have been updated for December 2009
No; although weights, widths and gradients are part of the RRI theme, there are no immediate plans to integrate them into the ITN Layer, therefore they will be available on a separate CD.
All commerical and Partner organisations that hold a licence for ITN with RRI will be sent a hard copy CD in the post after the annual update.
Additional copies will be sent on email request to your Account Manager or customerservices@ordnancesurvey.co.uk quoting your Ordnance Survey account number and contact name and address for delivery.
For all collective purchase agreements the files are availiable to download direct from the members area 'Extranet' pages on our website. Please click your agreement link below to go to your homepage to login. There will be contact details on these pages to get in touch with the Helpdesk if you need a password reminder.
As with all other customers CD hard copies can be sent at any time thoughout the year by sending an email to your Helpdesk quoting your account number and delivery contact and address.
There is no charge as the data is available as part of the ITN Road Routing Information theme.
It is licensed as part of the Road Routing Information theme.
There will be a yearly update usually in the last 3 months of the calender year.
It is available as a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file on a CD. The attributes are delivered in a file cross-referenced to the relevant road link, which itself is identified with a unique identifier (TOID® ), designed for seamless data integration. Each record contains the restriction information and a pair of x/y coordinates. This allows customers to load the information easily into a GIS package.
