Specification changes for the January 2012 release:
As part of a continuous improvement plan, changes to the specification have been made for the January 2012 release:
1- Reduction in the number of Shapefile fields
The number of fields per feature class has been rationalised. This is to remove the empty fields that are currently in the product.
2- Removal of the Number field (Shape format only)
The Number field contents are not specified and their source varies between feature classes. To avoid confusion, the field has been removed.
3- Removal of the GIS field and attribute (Shape format only)
This field contained a reference value for internal Ordnance Survey production processes and has been removed.
