Specification changes for January 2013-

  • The majority of urban area polygons have been split into single named settlement areas to improve data consistency.

Urban Area polygons (5420 & 5422) will have a single named node of either -
    Town (5413),
    Village (5416),
    Minor settlement (5448) or,
    Landmark Attribute point (5419).

No changes will be applied to large named settlement areas, including London Metropolitan urban areas (5420) and Urban Area polygons (5420) with City nodes (5427). Settlement areas not included, are listed here.

  • Removed admin_font_point seeds from islands in lakes as they had no purpose.

New style guide.
