Ordnance Survey password policy
- Passwords must be a minimum length of eight characters
- Passwords must be of alpha numeric format with a mixture of upper and lower case letters.
- Do not use special characters
- Password must not be a word contained in the dictionary, whether forwards or backwards, even if preceded or followed by a digit or digits or have letters substituted for numbers.
- Passwords must not use letter or number patterns, for example, qwerty7, 1qazxsw2.
- Passwords must not be written down.
- Passwords for privileged users must be changed whenever a person knowing the password leaves the area.

Passwords should only be divulged to authorised personnel for issue resolution and must be changed once resolution is complete.
Security question policy
- Security question responses are case sensitive
- Security question responses shoud use upper and lower case letters and numbers
- Security question responses should contain no special characters
