The Third Sector

How can you work with Ordnance Survey?

If you are a member of a third sector organisation (including voluntary and community groups, charities and co-operative organisations) you may be involved in work with a public sector organisation (who is a member of either the Public Sector Mappning Agreement or One Scotland Mapping Agreement) on a project regarding the provision of public sector services.

In this type of scenario, where you are supporting a public sector organisation, it may be necessary for them to share Ordnance Survey map data with you, in order for you to carry out actions to support that organisation in their 'core business' activities. In this situation, you will need to be licensed by the public sector organisation as a third party, in order to carry out this work.

Search and rescue organisations

Many search and rescue organisations which are set up as charities are entitled to use Ordnance Survey digital products in conjunction with the UKSAR.

If you work in this area, find more specific details on our Search and Rescue pages.
