OS OnDemand general FAQs

I do not currently have GB coverage for raster products, can I still sign up for OS OnDemand?

For OS OnDemand WMS, you do not need complete GB coverage, or all of the products available, but you will only be able to view the products and areas that you hold a licence for.

For OS OnDemand WMTS-like you will need complete GB coverage to view the products you wish to view.

Can I check which products or areas of products I hold for viewing under the service?

I currently have an OS OnDemand Pilot Licence and am upgrading to a commercial licence. Will my access to the service be interrupted?

For OS OnDemand WMS, a new username and password will be created for you. However, to enable you to migrate across to the new login credentials, we will keep the pilot login credentials active for an agreed period of time enabling continual access to the service.

For OS OnDemand WMTS-like, the login credentials will remain the same.

Where can I obtain an electronic copy of the OS OnDemand service brand name?

Is there any provision for Watermarking and Copyright within the OS OnDemand Service?

We require you to acknowledge your use of Ordnance Survey data, and make it clear that it is subject to licensing restrictions, by prominently including the logo where you are:

  • using OS OnDemand to display maps on an external website; or
  • printing OS OnDemand mapping for display or third party use.

The logo must be accompanied by the words provided in the welcome letter.
