Details: ASA Data Service’s solutions for the Ordnance Survey Positional Accuracy If you have digitised or collected your data based on Ordnance Survey Landline mapping then it is likely that you will face a significant problem when you receive maps from Ordnance Survey which have gone through the positional accuracy improvement programme which is currently underway. The underlying map information may have moved significantly and in random directions.
Software solutions will solve part of the problem for you but manual intervention will be needed which may require substantial manhours of work. ASA Data Services have cost effective solutions tailored to meet your needs which will allow you to overcome the problem and preserve the investment you have made in creating your data sets. We can:

GDC do not believe that there is a single 'solution' to PAI. For this reason we have developed a methodology that seeks to identify and enforce relationships between the business data layers and the underlying OS MasterMap. Using this relationship it is possible to recreate the polygon geometry for a business data layer by re-applying relationships after PAI - without the need to shift or warp the business data. GDC recommends that data be stored in a Single Data Model within an Oracle Database, which can be maintained consistently and conform to a single quality and accuracy policy. The Single Data Model methodology uses a range of technologies and specially developed algorithms and queries. A significant factor in GDC's recommendation for handling the PAI process within an Oracle Single Data Model is the ability to maintain an Audit Trail and Metadata about the data undergoing PAI and the status of ongoing data capture during the PAI programme.

Details: As a result of working with Ordnance Survey for over 25 years on both Land Line and OS MasterMap, Laser-Scan is in a unique position to deliver a solution which will enable user data to be PAI adjusted so that it matches the latest Ordnance Survey data. The Laser-Scan solution uses topological intelligence in an Oracle database to automatically correct and snap the user data to match the PAI adjusted Ordnance Survey data, whether it’s in Land-Line® or OS MasterMap format. Using this approach, not only is the data 'shifted' to the correct location, but can be automatically updated to exactly match the underlying real world features.
Laser-Scan’s PAI offering is based on our Radius Topology software, which can be provided either as a turnkey solution or as part of a comprehensive service.

Details: TerraQuest has developed a solution which addresses many of the data management issues present in migrating derived data to OS MasterMap or indeed aligning such derived user data with the current release of Land-Line. The mathematical correction of derived data including the application of the PAI link files prior to OS MasterMap migration is seen as a one off process and therefore best provided as a service. After migration to OS MasterMap, all derived data accuracy improvements should be implemented via the application of OS MasterMap change only update.
