We've compiled a list of the questions we often receive about the Accredited Data Consultant programme. We hope you find the answers useful.

Who is eligible to go on the course?

Any individual from a Partner or Alliance organisation who provides consultancy services to Ordnance Survey customers.  This can be either advice internally as a direct SLA/PGA/MSA customer organisation, or externally to a direct customer of Ordnance Survey.

 

What does the course cover?

The course only covers the OS MasterMap® products.  The content covers a technical review of each product set and provides insight into our data collection technologies and techniques, product development processes and internal infrastructure for data storage and delivery.

 

How much does the course cost to attend?

The course is free of charge to attend and includes refreshments and lunch during the day.  The delegate is expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.

Am I accredited, or the company I work for?

As with all other commercial individual accreditation programmes, you are the accredited consultant.  Your accreditation is regardless of who you work for.

How long am I accredited for?

Accreditation lasts for two years.  After this time you will be obliged to update your knowledge by attending a renewal course (likely to be one day), and demonstrate application of knowledge over the previous period of accreditation.

Do I simply have to attend the course to become an accredited consultant?

No, there is an assessment at the end of the three day course, and an agreement covering the nature of our relationship that must be agreed to.

Will the Ordnance Survey run courses specifically for an organisation?

No, due to the nature of the content and logistics of running courses, this is not possible.
