Ordnance Survey of Northern Ireland ( OSNI ) is an agency within the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure. A key strategic aim of the Agency is to keep the mapping of Northern Ireland up-to-date in a timely, accurate and effective way. We provide mapping and locational support information for a wide range of applications for government departments, for public bodies, for businesses and for individuals.

Our data complements and supports our parent department's vision of creating, "A confident, creative, informed and prosperous community." The mapping information we provide is crucial for a wide range of leisure activities, business applications, functions of government and emergency services, amongst others, and provides a rich and informative source about Northern Ireland's historical and cultural identity. We have created our databases of over many years and maintaining these databases and enhancing and developing further access to them are also central to our strategic aims.

OSNI is a relatively small organization but we aim to provide the mapping and locational information for Northern Ireland to meet the needs of all our customers. This information plays an ever-increasing role in the management of the infrastructure of Northern Ireland and we are determined to see that our data enables others to achieve their aims, for the benefit of the economy and for the public good.
