Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency

OS Landplan is our 1:10 000 scale digitally derived colour mapping which has changed the way graphic mapping can be produced. It works by combining map and database information. In doing so, we have introduced user-friendly, customised, graphic maps with far greater definition and accuracy than ever before.
Landplan is used by businesses, schools and home users for a great variety of purposes:

OS Landplan maps are created from three of Ordnance Survey’s datasets that are continually updated, bringing you the most up-to-date mapping at this scale.
It could be your postcode, a place name or a National Grid reference. You choose where you want the centre of the map.
Plots are available in a range of sizes and scales to meet your individual requirements, including our popular 1:10 000 (5 km by 5 km) and 1:5000 (3 km by 3 km). The size of the plot can also be rotated to follow linear features.
From city centres to upland moors, Landplan provides map extracts for any location in Great Britain.
As well as monochrome, OS Landplan can be produced in colour to give an excellent impression of the lie of the land.
To improve definition and positional accuracy, features are edited and generalised to a purpose-built specification.
Using the latest graphic technology, Great Britain now appears as one large, seamless map.
OS Landplan is derived from a variety of existing Ordnance Survey thematic and topographic databases: the National Geospatial Database, road centreline data and height data with the option to include contours, air and spot heights. Contours cannot be seen on screen.
