Please note: MiniScale has been created as a vector data graphic map optimised for use within desktop graphic applications. MiniScale's use within geographical information systems (GIS) will be limited to backdrop mapping using the TIFF format only.

All MiniScale formats are supplied on one CD-ROM to enable you to select a suitable format as required.

Data source

MiniScale is a redrawn and simplified product designed to meet the needs of the desktop graphics industry. It is derived from the 1:250 000 Scale Topographic database.

Data structure

Vector and raster.

Physical size (at scale above)

Great Britain = 700mm wide by 1300mm high (with Shetland Islands in position). Orkney and Shetland can be inset to reduce the height to about 1000mm.

Scale

The nominal scale is 1:1 000 000 (1mm = 1km).


MiniScale is designed to be used at viewing scales between 1:700 000 and 1:1 200 000.

 

It is best viewed at scales between 1:800 000 and

1:1000 000.
