OS Locator is derived from; OS MasterMap Integrated Transport Network™ Layer, Boundary Line™, Code Point® with polygons, Meridian® 2 and a specifically created localities database, with the product first released in November 2004.

Nominal scale of 1:10 000. OS Locator was designed to be viewed with 1:10 000 scale data, principally OS Street View, which is best displayed at the following scales:

Recommended minimum to maximum scale range for viewing is 1:5000 to 1:15 000 scale.

It is best viewed between 1:7000 and 1:10 000 scale.
