Oxfordshire is a prosperous county served by good transport facilities, but with the fast pace of economic development it has seen higher-than-average traffic growth. Non-motorway traffic is growing by nearly 2% per year compared to 1% across the UK, while motorway traffic is increasing by nearly 6% as against 4% elsewhere. The trend is set to continue in line with projected population increases.
