Ordnance Survey – Great Britain's national mapping agency

Ordnance Survey is working with the Information Centre for health and social care (The IC) to support the wider health sector through greater use of Ordnance Survey data.
Among the many vital applications of geographic information in the health sector is the identification of health inequalities, causal analysis and trends. These factors can guide strategic decisions on the targeting of services to clinical hot spots, investment priorities, the extension of patient choice and the supply of health advice to the citizen.
Health service managers can also use the data to support decision making on performance management, estate planning, efficient routing of mobile services, asset management, feasibility studies, scenario modelling, epidemiology analysis, and all forms of internal and external communications.
