My Career at OS began as a placement student from Bournemouth University. I spent a year working in the Mobile Development team and then progressed to become a part-time member of staff when I returned to my studies. Now that I’ve graduated with a degree in Computing, I’m a proud full-time member of staff within the same team.
I’ve always used OS maps. I completed my bronze Duke of Edinburgh award with an OS paper map, and since using them I’ve been interested to know what happens behind the scenes. When I had the opportunity to join the organisation, I jumped at the chance.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but being part of a team that is working to bring OS into the ever-growing mobile market, is something I’m proud of helping to achieve.
I’ve found that there are lots of opportunities available for me to develop myself personally and professionally; it’s staggering. I can socialise with like-minded individuals through technical showcases and other events, which lets me share what I’ve learnt, and learn from others. I’m looking forward to the next charity bake sale where I can show off my baking (and cake eating) skills!
