IT Trainee Programme at OS

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to be in a technology-based job, be professionally trained in IT or even have experience working in an IT environment. It might simply be that you code in your spare time and want to put your interest into practise by working with like-minded people.

We’re looking for you to show your passion for technology; your desire to know the latest trends and your enthusiasm to create and develop innovation. You need to be a self-starter with a positive attitude and most importantly, be willing and eager to learn.

What you can expect

About the Programme:

  • It lasts between six to eight months, full-time.
  • You’ll get a competitive salary with a pay rise on successful completion.
  • You’ll work at our Southampton head office.
  • You’ll develop industry-recognised skills.

As a Trainee you’ll work within an Agile development team which will give you the technical and business knowledge you need plus access to some of the latest tools. You’ll explore geospatial data and will learn skills in a wide range of current languages such as Java, Python, Oracle and more bespoke geospatial tools to name a few.

You’ll be supported by a dedicated mentor and will have regular catch-ups to see how you’re getting on, but the emphasis is on you to be proactive in your learning.

Completing the Programme

If you successfully complete our IT Trainee Programme you will land yourself a permanent job here at OS as a Software Engineer or Test Analyst, with huge potential to progress and move around the business.
