Trade union representatives

Request for information- FOI13433

Thank you for your e-mail, of the 22 October 2013, requesting information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.

I confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold some of the information to respond to your information request, and we respond to each of your points as follows:

1. How many Ordnance Survey employees work (a) full time as trade union representatives in (i) 2011/12 and (ii) 2012/13 and (b) part time as trade union representatives in (i) 2011/12 and (ii) 2012/13?
One Ordnance Survey employee worked as a full time trade union representative in both 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Fifty-three Ordnance Survey employees worked part time as trade union representatives in 2011/12 and sixty-three Ordnance Survey employees worked part time as trade union representatives in 2012/13.

2. What was the total cost of trade union facility time at Ordnance Survey in (a) 2011/12 and (b) 2012/13?
This information is not held by Ordnance Survey.

The reason this information is not held, is because Ordnance Survey did not capture or report on the equivalent cost of employee time spent on trade union representative activity until 03 of 2012/13.
