Request for information – FOI14465

Request

Thank you for your email of 25 April 2014, which we acknowledge, requesting the following information from Ordnance Survey:

Any aerial photography that you hold covering the postcode xxxx xxx the postal address being: xxxxxx xxxxxx, xxxxxx, xxxxxx, xxxxxx.

If you hold such information I will also require certification of the date the aerial photo was captured.

Our response

I confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold the information you have requested, as I have today arranged for the held information to be forward to you on a disc.

The imagery is supplied as historic km tiles, flown by contractors for our OSMasterMap® Imagery Layer update, and has been captured on the following dates:

24th September 2005 – image 6

24 September 2005 – image 7 (also includes an edge flown on 8 June 2006)

27 September 2008 – Image 8

23rd May 2010 – Image 9

As all the requested information has been provided, we have determined that in all the circumstances of this case the Public Interest consideration (section 17 FOIA) is not applicable in this instance.

Please note, the imagery you have requested is subject to crown copyright. Therefore you may not reproduce, distribute or publish it without Ordnance Survey’s express permission. This restriction does not apply to reasonable use for your own non-commercial research purposes, private study, or any other uses permitted under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Internal review

Your enquiry has been processed according to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000. If you are unhappy with our response, you may request an internal review with our FOI Internal Review Officer, by contacting them as follows:

Please include the reference number above. You may request an internal review where you believe Ordnance Survey has:

  • Failed to respond to your request within the time limits (normally 20 working days)
  • Failed to tell you whether or not we hold the information
  • Failed to provide the information you have requested
  • Failed to explain the reasons for refusing a request
  • Failed to correctly apply an exemption or exception

The FOI Internal Review Officer will not have been involved in the original decision. They will conduct an independent internal review and will inform you of the outcome of the review normally within 20 working days, but exceptionally within 40 working days, in line with the Information Commissioner’s guidance.

The FOI Internal Review Officer will either: uphold the original decision, provide an additional explanation of the exemption/s applied or release further information, if it is considered appropriate to do so.
