Request for Information – FOI14483
Thank you for your email of 19 August 2014 which we acknowledge, requesting information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.
The request is as follows:
A discrepancy between RoW status depiction on 25k and 50k scale is shown at SN 261 317 to SN 280 320: http://streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=226660&Y=231922&A=Y&Z=115 shows BOAT.
The 50k map shows Bridleway: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=226660&Y=231922&A=Y&Z=120
Under FOIA, can you please provide copies of any information held by OS that explains why this has been changed.
I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does not hold any information explaining why the RoW status depiction has been changed and as the FOIA provides a route of access to information held in a recorded form, Ordnance Survey is unable to provide you with copies of such information.
However, under our duty to provide advice and assistance as stipulated in Section 16 of the FOIA, we can provide the following explanation which may assist you in this matter:
Following investigation, we can confirm that the 1:50k bridleway is correct as it has been verified against the Local Authority’s Definitive Map. Please note that rights of way are liable to change, please check with the relevant local authority for the latest information. Contact details can be found on the Pembrokeshire County Council website.
The 1:25k scale data will be corrected and included in the next refresh in December 2014.

The FOI Internal Review Officer will either: uphold the original decision, provide an additional explanation of the exemption/s applied or release further information, if it is considered appropriate to do so.
