Request for information – FOI14510

Request

Thank you for your email of 28 November 2014, which we acknowledge, requesting information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000.

What has been the total annual contract value £GBP for outsourced health and safety consulting and training activities in both 2012 and 2013, excluding the contract with xxxxxx but including the contract with xxxxxx?

Our response

Ordnance Survey does hold some of the information to respond to your information request. Some information is exempt from disclosure and where applicable our reasoning is supplied. We respond to each of your points as follows:

What has been the total annual contract value £GBP for outsourced health and safety consulting and training activities in both 2012 and 2013, excluding the contract with xxxxxx but including the contract with xxxxxx?
We can confirm that we do hold this information.

On 16 December 2014 we wrote to you extending the deadline for response to 31 December 2014 and we raised the following clarification question:

“In order for us to provide you with the exact information you are seeking, it would aid us if you could specifically outline your interpretation of ‘in both 2012 and 2013’ in this context. For example are we correct to assume that ‘in both 2012-2013’ would mean 1 January 2012 to the 31 December 2013? Alternatively should we consider ‘in both 2012 and 2013’ to constitute the financial years of 2012 and 2013, which would mean 1 April 2012 – 31 March 2013 and 1 April 2013 – 31 March 2014? Please could you advise?”

Thank you for your email of 17 December 2014 confirming “To clarify, I request the information relating to Ordnance Survey 2012 and 2013 FINANCIAL years, which constitute the financial years of 2012 and 2013, which would mean 1 April 2012 – 31 March 2013 and 1 April 2013 – 31 March 2014”.
The total annual contract in GBP for outsourced health and safety consulting and training activities in both 1 April 2012 – 31 March 2013 and 1 April 2013 – 31 March 2014, excluding the contract with xxxxxx but including the contract with xxxxx are £67,500 and £67,500 respectively.

What number of insurance claims, settled or unsettled, related to health and safety accidents or incidents, have been made in 2012 and 2013?
We can confirm that we do hold this information. There were nil insurance claims relating to health and safety accidents or incidents made in 2012 and 2013.

What is the annual total of lost person days due to occupational related illness, accidents or incidents in 2012 and 2013?
We can confirm that we do hold this information. This information is exempt under Section 21 of the FOIA ‘Information Accessible to applicant by other means’. This is because the answer is published as part of our annual report under the health and safety management section on page 18.

However, under section 16 of the FOIA ‘the duty to provide advice and assistance’ we can advise that there were nil lost person days due to occupational related illness, accidents or incidents in 2012 and 2013.
