Thank you for your email of 29 May 2015, requesting the following information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act FOIA 2000:

1. What budget has been allocated for ICT technical training from 1 April 2015 to 31 March 2016?

2. Can you please provide details of the ICT managers/mangers that will purchase ICT technical training?

3. Please can we have a list of RFQ (Request for Quotes) for any training that will be purchased within the coming 12 months?

4. Is there ICT technical training required to be purchased within a certain time-frame?

5. Can I have a list of any ICT software upgrades planned for the new financial year?

6. Can I have a list of any hardware upgrades planned for the new financial year?

7. Can you provide copies or details of any ICT projects?

8. How much ICT technical training, has been purchased from QA Limited since first of April 2015?

9. Do you currently have any skills licences purchased with QA Limited? If so can you please provide a usage report?

10. Can you please provide details of the ICT managers/mangers that will purchased the licence?

Response

I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold some of the information you have requested to respond to your information request. Where the information is not held, this is stated.

1. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information. The budget that has been allocated for ICT technical training from 1t April 2015 to the 31 March 2016 is £200,000.

2. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information. The Learning and Development team from the HR department are the ICT Managers that will purchase ICT technical training.

3. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information. The current Request for Quotes for any training that will be purchased within the coming twelve months are listed below:

  • TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework)
  • Software Testing Training
  • PUPPET (Configuration Management Solution)
  • Redhat Linux System Administrator 1
  • Introduction to ArcGIS 10

4. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information. ICT technical training is not required to be purchased within a certain time-frame as Ordnance Surveys training requirements are ongoing.

5. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does not hold this information because Ordnance Survey does not hold a list of any ICT software upgrades for the new financial year.

6. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information. The list of any hardware upgrades planned for the new financial year are listed below:

  • To upgrade a backup solution
  • Increase SAN storage.

7. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information. The details of ICT projects are shown in the table below.

8. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does not hold this information because Ordnance Survey has not purchased any ICT technical training from QA Limited since the 1st April 2015. I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold this information. Ordnance Survey does not have any skills licenses purchased with QA Limited.
