Thank you for your email of 8 June 2015, requesting:
Contractual information the organisation may hold with regards to the organisation’s primary contracts relating to support services around help/service desk, desktop support and network support:
1. Help/service desk support:
The single point of contact between a service provider and users within an organisation. A typical service desk manages incidents and service requests, and also handles communication with the users.
2. Desktop support:
The technical services offered by a support organisation to a user(s) experiencing problems with their computers. Support may be on either hardware or software running on the affected computing device. Support may include but is not limited to installations, moves, adds, changes and disposition, and local remote services.
3. Network support:
Network support may be on either hardware or software running on the affected computing device. Support may include but is not limited to installations, moves, adds, changes and disposition, and local remote services.
For each of the contract type above can you please provide me with the following information set out below:
a) Contract type: Please choose from above the type of contract this is related to.
b) What is the support for hardware, software or other please state?
c) Who is this supplier: If there is more than one supplier please input their contract information in another contract profile.
d) What is the annual average spend this can be over three or five years?
e) What is the duration of the contract? Please also include any extension periods.
f) When does the contract expire?
g) When will this contract be reviewed by the organisation?
h) Please can you provide me with specific contact details of the person responsible for reviewing/owning each contract. I’d like their full name, job title, contact number and direct email address.
I confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold the information you have requested and I am pleased to provide you with the attached spreadsheet (Excel file). Where the information is not held or is exempt from disclosure, this is detailed.
Section 40(2) – Personal Information
Information relating to the contact details of the person who is responsible for reviewing/owning each contract is held by Ordnance Survey but is exempt from disclosure under Section 40(2) of the FOIA 'personal information'.
We consider this exemption applies because the release of: employees names, personal contact telephone numbers and their own work email address constitutes personal data, and is exempt because the release of this information would breach one of the data protection principles, as detailed in Section 40(3) (a) (i) of the FOIA.
In applying this exemption, we have considered whether disclosure of the personal data in question would be 'fair' (as described in Part II of Schedule 1 to the Data Protection Act). We have also given particular consideration to the likely expectations of the data subject regarding the disclosure of their personal information in this manner.

When Section 40(2) of the FOIA is engaged, and where the release of the requested information would breach one of the Data Protection principles, this constitutes an absolute exemption, and no public interest test is required.

The FOI Internal Review Officer will not have been involved in the original decision. They will conduct an independent internal review and will inform you of the outcome of the review normally within 20 working days, but exceptionally within 40 working days, in line with the Information Commissioner’s guidance.
The FOI Internal Review Officer will either: uphold the original decision, provide an additional explanation of the exemption/s applied or release further information, if it is considered appropriate to do so.
