Registers and tenders

FOI14603 – Request for information

Thank you for your email of 3 November 2015, requesting the following information in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000:

I wish to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to find out if there are any registers maintained within your department for which Registry Trust may either tender or apply to operate on your behalf.

1. Would you please supply a short description of any registers or official lists required to be maintained by your department other than minor, temporary or clerical operational databases or excel based record sheets?

2. If you do maintain any such registers or lists are these currently subject to a formal procurement process inviting tenders?

3. If the answer to question 2 is yes, when are the next tenders due and where are they advertised?

Please note that this request applies only to the addressee and not to any sub-departments or agencies.

Our response

I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does not hold this information, however under our duty to provide advice and assistance as stipulated in Section 16 of the FOIA, we can provide the following explanation which may assist you in this matter.

We maintain company registers in compliance with the Companies Act 2006. These are managed internally by OS staff, so are not currently outsourced. We have no plans to outsource these services.

I hope the above is of use to you.

Internal review

The FOI Internal Review Officer will not have been involved in the original decision. They will conduct an independent internal review and will inform you of the outcome of the review normally within 20 working days, but exceptionally within 40 working days, in line with the Information Commissioner’s guidance.

The FOI Internal Review Officer will either: uphold the original decision, provide an additional explanation of the exemption/s applied or release further information, if it is considered appropriate to do so.
