Traffic-free cycle route 3

Request for Information - FOI17783

Request

Thank you for your email of 18 July 2017, requesting information from Ordnance Survey in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) following on from your original request for information (FOI17773) for the following:

In your response to request FOI17773 you said: “I can confirm that the traffic-free cycle route, including the part lying to the east and west of the railway, were added to the 1:25k mapping in 2006.” I would like to know:

a) When the previous map at 1:25k was published i.e. the last one before 2006 which did *not* show this particular traffic-free cycle route;

b) The year in which this map was “revised” and the year(s) in which this map was “revised for selective change”.

Our response

I can confirm that Ordnance Survey does hold the information you have requested. Taking each request in turn, I confirm the following:

a) When the previous map at 1:25k was published i.e. the last one before 2006 which did *not* show this particular traffic-free cycle route;

The previous version of Explorer map 173, the last one that did not show the traffic free cycle route was edition A1, which was published in 2000.

b) The year in which this map was “revised” and the year(s) in which this map was “revised for selective change”.

Explorer Map 173 was “revised” in 1998 (edition A) and “revised for selected change” in 2000 (edition A1).
